This document supersedes document A Manifesto for Society in the AI Future as the new Probably42 flagship document.
It brings together the most foundational ideas from the Manifesto into a new Economic and Societal Architecture. The remaining proposals in the Manifesto will be brought together in a new ancillary document.

The architecture comprises the following layers:
- A Vision, Ambition and Architectural Goals for the UK Economy and Society in the AI era
The aim is a fairer, more effective and more innovative society in the AI era, grounded in Principled Pragmatism, the good of all, long-term thinking, and improved individual and national wellbeing. - A Public Bargain for the AI Era - 6 Core Foundations
These core foundations are designed to establish public benefit and public trust, including how we generate the funds to pay for the disruption AI will cause and the transition into the future.
- A Contribution Economy and Opportunity Society together with supporting infrastructure. This builds on the 6 foundations and moves from a system that primarily taxes activity and redistributes after the event, to one that actively aligns incentives, taxation and organisational behaviour with economic productivity, positive societal outcomes and meaningful contribution.
- Stewardship and Accountability Approaches defining how the system is steered, renewed and sustained and which provides visibility and accountability.
- Cross-cutting Design Principles which shape every part of the new model.
Together, these layers provide an integrated economic and societal architecture for the AI era, within which policies across every area of Government can be developed and aligned to reinforce one another and contribute towards the same long-term Vision and Ambition.
