We agree with the three pillars of the National AI Strategy but we also believe there are two further pillars which either need to be included in the next version of the AI Strategy, or tackled separately given their importance. We would describe these two pillars as
- Managing the downsides and unintended consequences of AI deployment
- Using AI to improve society for the good of all
We see these as necessary to underpin the future plan and ensure that all the elements of the AI Strategy fit together with no gaps in the thinking.
This 'Feedback and Recommendations' document was input to the Office for Artificial Intelligence in October 21.
